Psychosocial Recovery Coaching

Our team of psychosocial recovery coaching (recovery coach) operate from a recovery-oriented practice module.  Our recovery coaches will work collaboratively with you, your families, carers, and other services to design, plan, implement and review individual recovery plan.

We match the recovery coaches' skills and experience with those of individual clients. 

Roles and responsibilities of your recovery coach

Subject to individual preferences of the client, the responsibilities of the recovery coach include: 

  • Developing recovery-enabling relationships, based on hope. 

  • Supporting the person with their recovery planning 

  • Coaching to increase recovery skills and personal capacity, including motivation, strengths, resilience and decision-making. 

  • Collaborating with the broader system of supports to ensure supports are recovery - oriented. 

  • Supporting engagement with the NDIS, including support with plan implementation

  • Documentation and reporting.

Initial phase 

  • The initial phase of support will focus on relationship building and supporting a participant’s recovery-planning.

  • A key aspect of this initial stage is to reach a shared understanding of a participant’s goals, priorities, strengths and resources, and possible barriers that might be experienced. 

 

Ongoing coaching 

  • Equipped with the shared understanding and consistent with the expressed preferences, recovery coaches will support you to gain maximum benefit from your NDIS plan by linking you with NDIS providers and other relevant supports including clinical mental health services.

About our recovery coaches

Our recovery coaches have one or a combination of the following:

  •  Mental health qualifications.

  • Lived experienced and success on their personal journey.  

  • Truma informed.

  •  Experience in working in the mental health environment including

Recovery coaching methods:

We will work with you to provide you with coaching sessions which meet your needs and your preferences. This may include one or a combination of the following methods:

  • In person coaching 

  • Non face to face - over zoom

  • Phone coaching
